3D Analysis of the Putt
For each point of the trajectory
it is possible to calculate a center
of instantaneous rotation
whose estimate is dependent
on the value of the
instantaneous velocity.
Welcome to the Capto Level 2 Certification Course
This course will take approximately 5 hours to complete. You do not have to complete the course all at once. You can do segments at a time and come back later for other segments. OpenLearning will remember your progress throughout the course.
After completing the course you will recieve the Level 2 Certificate.
Throughout this course we take a more detailed look at some of the data that weren't discussed in Level 1. We will take a look at:
- Handling
- Trembling
- Accelerations / Speeds
- 3D Motion
- Putter Rail
- Target mode
- Practice mode
- Protocol mode
- Live mode
- Dystonia Research
- Recap
- Screening Students
- Putting Drills
At the end of the course you will:
- Understand all of the Capto data we didn't cover in Level 1
- Know how to use the different Capto parameters to improve your students putting
- Have passed the final exam
Good Luck and keep learning!
Putt Plane
3D analysis is the core of Capto software.
Putt plane is calculated on angular velocities of the putter.
The plane inclination depends mostly on face rotation.
With Capto you can measure with high accuracy 3d putt plane
Shaft Plane
Shaft plane is generated by shaft movement.
It’s a projection of the shaft subsequent positions on their mean plane.
Small size of the kernel is an indicator of a stable operation around the axis
Putt Kernel
Capto introduced the concept of Putt Kernel.
Putt Kernel is the sphere that contains the centers of instantaneous rotation.
The calculation is performed in a survey area from 1 inch before the low point to 1 inch after the impact.
Small size of the sphere is an indicator of the good quality of the putt.

3D Explore
3D EXPLORE and 3D Optimizer:
It gives a 3d representation of putter movement.
Optimizer gives a 3d visual of optimal stroke
overlapped on player stroke.
It’s a great way to see mistakes and improve!
